Varahram Fire Temple of Yazd
The Varahram fire is ancient and was sanctified eversince the Sasanids era (226 - 651 AD). This fire flamed
for thirty years in the cave of Shegeft Kooh heights. According to Hirbod Dordi the fire was kept in the cave in
order to protect if from theft. The Varahram fire was moved many times and before a certain temple was built
for it, the grand Zoroastrian priest kept it at his home. In 1225 on the Zoroastrian calendar, a building was built
to keep the sacred fire. This building was built by Bankji the first representative of the Persians residing in
India in the place where the Varahram fire was formely kept. This place is located in Dasturan. One side of this
monument opens to the residence of the Zoroastrian priest, Namdar and the other has access to the
residence of priest Khodayar. The fireplace of Varahram in Yazd is a large carved stone and mounted in the
center of the fire temple. There is also an inscription which reads; In the name of the mighty God, with the
blessings of the compassionate God, in full humbleness, during the era of the king of justice Mozaffar-al-Din
Shah of Qajar dynasty, may Allah grant eternity to his territory, this sacred fire temple, Varahram was
established where people can perform religious duties.

Dolat Abad Garden Complex of Yazd

Dolat Abad Garden complex is composed of Kolah Farangi (wind tower), Haram Khaneh, Behesht Aein, the
residence of the service men and women, Divankhaneh, stable for horses and camels, main entrance, water
storage compound, and garden. This complex has been built in 1737, by Mohammad Taghi Khan Yazdi who
was contemporary to Shahrokh Mirza Afshar and Karim Khan Zand.
With 35 meters in height, the wind tower building of the complex is the tallest one in the country.
